One of Nagoya's best-run animal cafes, Hitoyasumi is staffed with an ample number of cats (twenty-one at last count, including several kittens), and is comfortably furnished for visitors. The big L-shaped playroom is filled with the things cats love - baskets and pots to curl up in, empty boxes to explore, climbing trees, shelves and wall-mounted stairways, and large windows to perch in and observe the outside world.
There's comfortable seating for visitors, and a separate glassed-in cat-free break room where you can enjoy complimentary coffee and cookies. (You can also bring your coffee into the playroom.) Cat treats (in dry pellet form) can be purchased for Y200. Cover charge starts at thirty minutes, and you don't need to decide in advance how long you want to stay.
